Introduction

Sun Yat‐Sen University is one of China's top universities and has an outstanding global reputation for academic and research excellence. Located in Zhuhai, a beautiful coastal city, Zhuhai Campus of Sun Yat‐Sen University is a comfortable place for living, teaching and doing research. Under the support of Zhuhai Government, the University has strategically decided to further enhance the strength of Zhuhai campus and aims to build it into a dynamic campus with national excellence and international recognition. In addition to 7 established schools, Zhuhai campus will establish 12 new schools and departments, including History, Philosophy, Chinese, Law, Government, Life Sciences, Geography, Mathematics, Physics and Astronomy, Chemical Engineering and Technology, and Atmospheric Sciences.

The Department of Philosophy (Guangzhou Campus) at Sun Yat‐Sen University has a proud history of intellectual rigor and offers a vibrant research and teaching environment, having research strength especially in logic and Marxism. It is home to some of the most outstanding researchers and teachers in China and the world, and regularly hosts prominent visitors and international colloquia. Parallel to Philosophy at Guangzhou Campus, the Department of Philosophy at Zhuhai Campus intends to develop its own research strength, in particular, in political philosophy, religious studies, comparative philosophy, and comparative religion, with an emphasis on interdisciplinary inquiry and multicultural understanding.
