Abstract:

Inspired by the arguments of Love for Country, this talk intends to rethink nationalism, patriotism, and cosmopolitanism and their relations from the perspective of Chinese tradition and Confucianism in particular. In my view, the Confucian standpoint on this issue could be regarded as a rooted cosmopolitanism or a cosmopolitan patriotism, which is helpful to unlock or at least loosen the entanglement of nationalism, patriotism, and cosmopolitanism.

受人们关于对国家的爱的讨论启发，本次研讨试图从中国传统及儒家的角度来重新思考民族主义、爱国主义和世界主义，以及三者之间的联系。在这个问题上，我认为可将儒家视为一种深植的世界主义或一种世界性的爱国主义。这有助于解开，或者至少可以松开民族主义、爱国主义和世界主义之间的纠葛。
