ABSTRACT

This paper first explores the nature of community and its importance for human flourishing, with special emphasis on the family. The paper then considers how our understanding of the role of community in human flourishing sheds light on the requirements of justice, and in particular helps to explain why - and to what extent - partiality toward family, friends, and fellow community members more generally is justified (and even morally required).

摘要

本文首先会探讨共同体的本质及其对人类繁荣的重要性，特别强调家庭的重要性。本文进而思考我们对共同体在人类繁荣中的角色这一问题的理解，如何阐明对正义的要求，尤其是如何帮助解释：为什么以及在何种程度上，对家庭、朋友和共同体成员的偏私具有更普遍的合理性（甚至是道德所要求的）。
