Established in 2015, the Department of Philosophy (Zhuhai) builds upon the rich academic legacy of philosophy at Sun Yat-sen University. With focusing on Political Philosophy, Chinese Philosophy, Comparative Religion, Philosophy of Science and Technology, the department emphasizes interdisciplinary, comparative, and international approach, striving to break conventional disciplinary boundaries and foster a globally influential research platform.

Open Positions

The Department of Philosophy (Zhuhai) invites qualified applications for faculty positions of all rank and post‐doctors. The successful applicants will possess a PhD in philosophy or closely related discipline from an internationally recognized and reputable university. Fresh PhDs are encouraged to apply; however, preference will be given to those with relevant university teaching and research experience. The AOS is open on different areas of Philosophy. Though teaching is primarily in Chinese, English can be the language of instruction and communication. Bilingual candidates will be highly regarded. Sun Yat‐Sen University will provide competitive salaries and allowances.

Tenure/Tenure-track Faculty

Professor (Tenured)

-Internationally recognized for significant achievements in academic research and higher education;

Associate Professor (Tenured)

-Established academic reputation with widely recognized contributions to research and higher education;

Post-doctoral Fellows

-Doctoral degree in philosophy or closely related discipline obtained within the last 3 years;

-familiarity with domestic and international higher education systems;

-strong research capabilities and a global academic outlook.
